裏通りにある店は、最初は分かりにくいことが多い。そして、通りすがりの人が何となく入ってくることは少ない。だが、そこを知っていること自体が小さな喜びになるような魅力がある店であることも、また多いように思う。

恵比寿から白金へと抜けるバス通りの両側には昔ながらの細く曲がった道が入れ組み、まさにそのような店の激戦区。カ・ノーリはその中の一軒、裏通りのさらに裏に位置する小さなイタリアンレストランである。

石畳風の床に木製のテーブルと椅子が並ぶ店内は、カウンター（４席）を含めて、全部で１２席。固いビジネスディナーで使用するには正直ややカジュアル過ぎるかもしれない。だが、異性・同性を問わず親しい間柄で訪れるには最高の雰囲気。通り沿いに大きく取られた窓からは、そんな気持ちのよい空気が暖かな灯りと共に溢れている。

国内外での修行を経たオーナーの間シェフが供するのは、素材に対して極力余計なことをせずに仕上げたシンプルな料理。お薦めは、手打ちパスタと炭火を使った豪快な肉料理。ちなみに、この店には魚の料理はない。炭火でじっくりと仕上げられた肉の大きな塊と赤ワインが並んだテーブルを、毎晩、肉好きな人々の笑顔が囲んでいる。

正に店名のとおり、裏通りにある「カ・ノーリ＝ノリ（＝シェフの名前は典三）の家」を訪れたような感覚で、おいしく食べて飲んで、楽しいひと時を過ごすことが出来る一軒。繰り返しになるが、肉好きな方には、特にお薦めしたい。

Located on a back street, this restaurant may be hard to find. In fact, people hardly ever just stumble upon this restaurant unexpectedly. On the other hand, this small restaurant has something special which will make you proud to be one of the cognoscenti.

The smallish street leading you from Ebisu to Shirogane is called Bus Street. It goes through the area with nameless small back streets with many likewise hidden restaurants. Ca Nori is an Italian restaurant located on one of those nameless back streets.

With wood tables placed on flagstone floor, this restaurant has only 12 seats, including 4 at the counter facing the kitchen. Obviously, this restaurant is not an appropriate venue for a business dinner as it is rather too casual. On the other hand, this is definitely an ideal place for close friends to casually enjoy good Italian food. From outside looking in through a large window, you can see the lighted dining space and its easy atmosphere.

Trained both in Japan and overseas, the Chef is skilled in handling fresh ingredients without adding too many twists. The cuisine is all relatively simple but firmly committed to the fundamentals here. Especially recommended are homemade pasta and boldly char grilled meats. It is a common sight in this restaurant for people to be happily eating large chunks of meat and drinking red wine. The place is definitely for carnivores. It might b wise to look for a different place, if you are more interested in eating seafood.

True to its name, Ca Nori on the back street with no name is just like a combination of a family kitchen and dining. In fact, it means Nori’s house in Italian. If you consider yourself a carnivore, this is the house where you belong.
