On a small back alley in Araki-cho, Shinjuku-ku, many small dining and drinking outlets happily coexist. Sucre Sale is located at the entrance into this Araki-cho from Gaien HIgashi Dori. It is a couple of minutes walk from Yotsuya 3 chome crossing, just above the Marunouchi subway line station with the same name.
Very visible at night is the light of this southern France themed restaurant using orange as its theme color. This restaurant, with its pleasant and relaxing dining atmosphere, is much more than the stereotypical French restaurant. The restaurant serves solid French cuisine. This is probably only place In Tokyo you can order full course meals or a la carte late at night: Their last order is exceptionally late at 24:30, except Sunday when it is 21:30.and Tuesday when the restaurant is closed.
Chef Nakanishi started his career at a very renowned bistro, Pas A Pas, and then went on to augment his skills in France. From appetizers to desserts, portions of his dishes are exceptionally large. However, this restaurant is not only known for quantity but also for quality. In fact such a balance of quantity and quality is very hard to find in Tokyo.
The name of restaurant means sweet salt in French. All the dishes served here are very tasty, and are served by entertainingly characteristic wait staff. These upbeat servers are more than happy to explain about menu items and suggest matching wines.
If you are in the mood for French food with both quality and quantity, this is the place to go, even if it is late at night.
